‘Testimony’ is a story of Auschwitz-Birkenau and was produced by invitation from the Auschwitz Birkenau Museum to Heartstone at the time of the 60th Anniversary of the concentration camp’s liberation in January 2005. The site is a powerful reminder of the horrors of the Nazi Holocaust and it has been preserved with this purpose in mind. The work of the Museum today includes educating the next generation about what happened to ensure, as far as they can, that such monstrous actions never happen again. Not many people will ever go to Auschwitz, Heartstone was privileged to be invited to cover the Museum but also the ‘March of the Living’, which included survivors of the camps, as a photodocumentary so that the story of the camp and what happened can be taken out, especially to children and young people, for many years to come.
