As part of the Commonwealth Heads of Government meeting in 1997, Edinburgh’s City Arts Centre hosted The Heartstone Odyssey exhibition. The space provided was the very same spot the Tutankhamun exhibition took place, one of the most prestigious sites in the City. Special guest Princess Anne visited the exhibition in order to meet some of the children who took part in the project.

Sitakumari explains to Princess Anne how the exhibition has been put together and the different stories contained within it, including the story which had just been produced working with partners in the Serengeti just two weeks before the event, to document the spectacular wildebeest migration across the plains.
One of the Heartstone groups in Edinburgh were invited as special guests to this event. Princess Anne talked to them about the project and what they had been doing.
Princess Anne has a close look at the ‘Heartstone Charter’ produced by the group for the exhibition whilst one of the children explains how it was produced and what it includes.
